Denise began studying piano at the age of twelve. Within two years, she was assisting her instructor teach beginner students, which she did for three years until starting college.

She volunteered at her local church for four years as the Church Organist and also assisted other churches with their music programs.

At seventeen, Denise was accepted at Julliard School of Music. She received a full scholarship at College Misericordia in Dallas, PA, and a half scholarship at Marywood College in Scranton, PA.

From 1987 to 1992, Denise resumed her teaching career part time and working full time as a Music Therapist with psychiatric patients for fifteen years. From 1990 to 1992, she was the accompanist for baritone Cornell Hardy and performed in concert with him in the Philadelphia area. In 1992, Mrs. Williams opened her piano studio full time.

• Ray Cramer (taught by Martin Canin, who took over for Rosinna Levinne at Julliard)

• Dr. Robert Schick and Ben Whitten (West Chester University)

• Harvey Wedeen (assistant to Adele Marcus at Julliard - Ms. Marcus produced 3 international Tchaikowsky Winners), chair of the Piano Department at Temple Univerisity for 50+ years and highly sought after by students internationally in the Graduate and Doctorate programs. His students have won world competitions and frequent Carnegie Hall in New York City.

  • Ms. Marcus, whom Mr. Wedeen assisted, produced 3 international Tchaikowsky Winners.
